NEW ONLINE RESOURCE CENTER

ECE’s Online Resource Center is designed to help our participating congregations, alumni congregations, and other members of the community access a growing number of educational, leadership, and organizational change resources in the field of Jewish Educational and Synagogue Transformation.

Each resource is introduced by a Resource Card which offers a range of useful information to help guide you. The card will then take you to the actual resources online or to links where you can obtain them. Some of the types of resources included are:

Articles and books about synagogue change, educational leadership, trends in general and Jewish education, teaching and evaluation

Text Studies which bring the resources of the Jewish tradition to the synagogue committee so that they can learn and grow together as they make important decisions about the future of their community

Exercises that can help congregations delve into Jewish education and further the process of change

Sample communications and other tools developed by ECE congregations that you can adapt for use in your congregation

ONLINE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

The ECE’s Online Learning Experience on Alternative Models of the Religious School is a unique program that allows participating RE-IMAGINE congregations to make a “virtual visit” to innovative congregations. During this visit, Task Force members learn about new models of education and the process of innovation. This guided, Internet-based experience affords our ECE communities the opportunity to learn about synagogue education in new ways.

Participants are able to learn about specific models and programs in
three important ways: through reading narrative and research;
by watching and listening to interviews with participants in the models including congregants, leaders, and professionals, and through "Day-in-the-Life" mini-documentaries that show these religious school programs in action; and lastly, by entering reflections that allow Task Force members to share their thoughts, reactions and questions with one another. The Online Learning Experience is fully integrated into the RE-IMAGINE Project and only available to participating congregations.
