A day of sharing and planning inspires IMRS teams to embrace the challenges ahead!

Teams from all five San Francisco Bay Area congregations (Congregation Beth Sholom, Congregation Kol Emeth, Congregation Sha'ar Zahav, Peninsula Sinai Congregation, and Peninsula Temple Sholom) participating in the ECE's Innovative Models of the Religious School (IMRS) project gathered for a long and productive day in February at the Jewish Community High School of the Bay.

Lay-leaders, educators, rabbis, consultants, BJE staff and project funders were led by national ECE staff in a full day that included reflecting on the initial stages of the project as well as learning, preparing and strategizing for the future. Participants shared with one another -- in both congregational teams and "role-alike" groups -- about past accomplishments and future challenges. They exchanged ideas about communicating with their congregations, and they reassured one another that change, innovation and re-imagination are not only possible, but within reach!
